Bhubaneswar, Jan 10 (UNI) The Odisha Cabinet on Monday approved the tender proposals of mega pipe water supply schemes for Mayurbhanj, Sambalpur and Cuttack districts.
Briefing newsmen after the cabinet state Chief Secretary S C Mohapatra said construction of these pipe water supply schemes would be completed in 2 years from the time of execution agreements.
The Government has taken a decision for execution of two Mega Piped Water Supply Projects to provide safe drinking water in Sambalpur District out of JJM funding.
Two more Mega Piped Water Supply Projects to provide safe drinking water in Mayurbhanj District will be executed out of OMBADC funding.
A Mega Piped Water Supply Project to provide safe drinking water in Cuttack District will be executed out of JJM funding.
In another decision, the cabinet approved a proposal for laying down the principles for temporary allotment of government land in favour of different public entities for public purposes.
Mohapatra said the government has decided to levy a license fee at the rate of three per cent of the market value of the land payable each year for temporary allotment of government land in favour of a public entity for public purposes.
The license for Temporary use of government land can be granted for one year at a time which can be extended maximum for three years.
The Chief Secretary said in August 2013, the government had formulated a policy to charge a licence fee of one tenth of the market value of the land payable each year for temporary allotment of government land for private purposes.
The agency in whose favour, the temporary allotment of land is granted does not get any right, title, or interest over the allotted land but is allowed to only use the property on payment of the license fee.
The cabinet also decided to bring the teaching and nonteaching employees at par with the employees who are governed under the provisions of the Odisha (Aided Colleges, Aided Junior Colleges and Aided Higher Secondary Schools) Grant-in-Aid Order, 2009
Except above employees, other block grant employees have been extended enhanced financial benefits under Odisha (Aided Colleges, Aided Junior Colleges and Aided Higher Secondary Schools) Grant-in-Aid Order, 2017.
The cabinet felt imperative to bring a new Grant-in-aid Order namely Odisha (Non-Government Colleges, Junior Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools) Grant-in-Aid Order, 2022.
Mohapatra said he Cabinet held under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik took 12 major decisions relating to the departments of handloom, textiles and handicrafts, general administration and public grievances; higher education, Panchyati raj and drinking water and revenue and disaster management.
