Bhubaneswar, June 7:There is yet another political muscle flexing soon after the formation of the new ministry in Odisha. Post that, it is about the 23 Corporations in Odisha which are to be headed by political appointees.
Besides that, there are quite a number of posts of officially recruited advisors are to be filled up.
Obviously, each one concerned is trying to have his or her pound of share.
The newly appointed ministers would look forward to get the people posted in the corporations with whom they have a comfortable political chemistry.
But, under the present dispensation, the ones with the tested merit always get such positions. Yet, each aspiring ones are pinning their hopes while trying at their own level to get into the prize positions.
There is a perceptible window shopping by some to get into the profitable state undertakings like, Housing Board, Planning Board and Khaadi Board.
Apart from that, there is a likelihood of a reshuffling at the administrative field, more so, at the IAS and IPS level. That too is a field the new ministers must be trying to get the officers of their choice to be attached to their ministries.
However, this being a routine course, efforts are on by the government to complete paraphernalia before the coming monsoon session.
This is a time when the government must be working hard to strike a political balance between the aspiring ones and the ones slightly marginalized.
