Mild Tremor In Odisha Congress: Narasingha Mishra Rumored To Have Resigned, ‘Sonia Gandhi Has Final Say On All’ Chellakumar

Bhubaneswar, Apr 26: Everything is not OK in the state unit of the beleagured Congress in Odisha. From the OPCC president level downwards, there is an air of change looimg over.

Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee’s state in-charge, A. Chella kumar has chaired a crucial meeting amidst the growing demand for a change of the State guard and held deliberations with senior leaders on Tuesday.

Although Chella kumar has not been particularly committed to any decision but he has told that, very soon the high command would come out with the new names whatsoever. But the changes are on the cards.

Regarding the change in the CLP (Congress Legislative Party) leader, it’s rumored that, after the meeting in the afternoon, with the state in-charge, party leader Narasingha Mishra has resigned from the Party position. But it’s yet to be confirmed by party sources as, the veteran leader has denied to say anything on this regard.

Also present at the occasion, PCC president Niranjan Patnaik, Congress legislature party leader Narasingha Mishra along with all the MLAs and senior leaders of the party had put forth their views before Chella kumar, on the month-long controversial issue of State Guard selection.

Upon his arrival in Bhubaneswar today, Chella kumar said, “Since the PCC president Niranjan Patnaik has submitted his resignation, it is my duty to hear the views of all the leaders including MLAs, MPs and other senior leaders.”

On demand of certain Congress leaders that some MLAs from the party should be appointed as the next PCC president, Chella kumar said, “I don’t think there is any rule or law like this in the Congress constitution.”

Senior Congress leader, Narasingha Mishra said that several crucial issues were discussed and party high command will take an appropriate decision. “We do not want to highlight the issues before media as of now,” he said.

Which is clear that, the high command may appoint any other Congress leader as the PCC president. Which has doubled the anxiety in the party.

Later in the day, Chellakumar said, “Discussions were held with MLAs and senior leaders of the party. The process has started for selection of new OPCC chief. All senior leaders have suggested names. Very soon the new OPCC chief will be announced following discussion with high command.”
