Huge Cache Of Arms, Explosives Seized From Maoist Camp In Malkangiri
Malkangiri: A huge cache of arms, explosives and other items were recovered from a Maoist camp during a combing operation by security forces in Malkangiri district on Friday.
As per sources, after receiving a specific information, Malkangiri Police had conducted an intensive search and area domination in the general area of Tulsi Reserve forest under Mathili Police Station jurisdiction bordering to Odisha-Chhattisgarh.
At about 05.05 am today, one major Maoist dump was uncovered near jungle area of Katwapadar village under Kartanpalli gram panchayat. This has led to recovery and seizure of huge quantity of IEDs, Arms, Laptop/Notebook, Multimeter, Medicines including oral contraceptives and other incriminating articles.
The police suspect that these explosives along with other articles belongs to the Maoists cadres of DKSZC and they were intended to be used against innocent civilians and security forces to carry out their subversive, anti-national activities. In the wake of recovery, further combing and search operations are going on in the area.
