Bhubaneswar: The entry of tourists into Deomali in Koraput district has been prohibited after 9.00 pm till 8.00 am for the next 60 days, as per an office order issued by Collector Abdaal M. Akhtar.
Prohibitory orders under section 144 of CrPC has been imposed by the Collector as some tourists and unsocial elements spending the night at Deomali were damaging the environment and government property by lighting campfires in non-designated places.
Entry of all unauthorized tourists and outsiders into Deomali have been prohibited unless specifically permitted. Akhtar has directed the Superintendent of Police, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, field level teams to implement the order.
The order shall not apply to Executive Magistrates and police personnel and other public servants on duty. Any person violating the order will face stringent action as per law.
