Bhubaneswar: A Havildar was suspended for manhandling a Habisiali during darshan at the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri on Monday.
The Habisiali identified as Madhuri, a resident of Berhampur, was injured during the darshan outside the temple.
Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh informed that an Additional SP rank official is conducting inquiry into the matter. A DSP rank official is supervising the treatment of the injured Habisiali.
Statement of Jagannath Temple Police (JTP) will be recorded and the CCTV footages will be scrutinised. Further action will be taken based on the findings, said Singh.
