CM Naveen Expresses Grief Over The Demise Of Well-Known Botanist Chandrasekhar Sarangi
ବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ଉଦ୍ଭିଦ ବିଜ୍ଞାନୀ ଚନ୍ଦ୍ରଶେଖର ଷଡ଼ଙ୍ଗୀଙ୍କ ଦେହାନ୍ତ ବିଷୟରେ ଜାଣି ମୁଁ ଦୁଃଖିତ। ରାଜ୍ୟରେ ଶିକ୍ଷା ତଥା ବିଜ୍ଞାନର ପ୍ରସାରରେ ତାଙ୍କର ଅବଦାନ ସର୍ବଦା ସ୍ମରଣୀୟ ରହିବ। ତାଙ୍କ ଅମର ଆତ୍ମାର ସଦଗତି କାମନା କରିବା ସହ ଶୋକସନ୍ତପ୍ତ ପରିବାରବର୍ଗଙ୍କ ପ୍ରତି ମୋର ସମବେଦନା ଜଣାଉଛି।

Prof Sarangi, who was a popular botany teacher during his 10-year tenure in Ravenshaw College, Cuttack, from 1975 to 1985, has authored two reference books for BSc students and co-authored two text books for Intermediate and two for higher secondary students.
He also served as the vice-president of Board of Secondary Education, Odisha; Director of State Forensic Science Laboratory in Bhubaneswar; Director of Adult Education, Odisha; and Chairman of Council of Higher Secondary Education, Odisha.
After his retirement from government service in 1994, Prof Sarangi was appointed as the vice-chancellor of Shri Jagannath Sanskrit University in 1997 and continued in the post till 2000.
Born in October 1936 at Pantikhari Sasan village under Odagaon tehsil of Nayagarh district, Prof Sarangi passed out from Sarankul high school. He did his Intermediate at SCS College, Puri and BSc and MSc at Ravenshaw College.
