Bhubaneswar, May 13: As many as 40 star campaigners are selected for the upcoming bypoll to the Brajrajnagar Assembly Constituency in Jharsuguda district. The Odisha Pradesh Congress today released the this fair long list of the star campaigners.
Chattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and firebrand Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar are among the star campaigners.
Other notable names are party’s Odisha in-charge A. Chella Kumar, OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik, Kantabanji MLA Santosh Singh Saluja, Sanakhemundi MLA Ramesh Chandra Jena, former OPCC president Sarat Patnaik, former OPCC president Jayadev Jena, Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammed Moquim, Ganeshwar Behera, youth leader Yashir Nawaz, Balangir MLA Narasingha Mishra, Jeypore MLA Tara Prasad Bahinipati, Jatani MLA Suresh Kumar Routray, Bhakta Chandra Das, Koraput MP Saptagiri Ulaka, Chiranjib Biswal, Panchanan Kanungo and Arya Kumar Jnanendra.
Late Lawmaker’s wife Alka Mohanty from BJD, former Brajrajnagar MLA Radharani Panda from BJP and Kishore Chandra Patel from Congress have filed their nominations for the by-poll.
As per the notification of the State Election Commission, the bypoll will be held from 7 am to 6 pm on May 31. The counting of votes will take place on June 3.
