Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal (BJD) candidate for the Padmapur by-election, Barsha Singh Bariha, filed her nomination paper before the Sub-Collector in Padampur on Thursday.
Barsha is the elder daughter of deceased Padampur MLA Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha. Her name had been announced by party supremo-cum-Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday.
The last date of filing nomination papers is today and the scrutiny is on November 18. The last date of withdrawing candidature is November 21. Voting for the bypoll will be held on December 5, while results are scheduled to be declared on December 8.
