May 13: The biennial election to fill three Rajya sabha seats from Odisha will be held on June 10.
A notification issued by the Election Commission of India said elections to fill the 57 Rajya sabha seats, including three from Odisha, spread across 15 states will be held on June 10. The term of office of 57 Rajya Sabha members is due to expire on their retirement during the period from June-August 2022.
In Odisha N Bhaskar Rao, Prasanna Acharya, and Sasmit Patra are retiring on July 1, 2022. ECI said notification for the election will be made on May 24, and that May 31 is the last date for filing nominations. Meanwhile, scrutiny of nominations will be made on June 1 and that the candidates can withdraw their candidature till June 3. Polling will be held from 9 AM to 4 PM and counting of votes will be done on June 10 at 5 PM.
