At 43 Degree Derailed Capital City, Scarier Heatwave Alert Awaited
Bhubaneswar, Apr 24: Bhubaneswar on Sunday recorded 43 degree Celsius, becoming the hottest place in Odisha for the second consecutive day. The mercury touched 43 degree Celsius here by 2.30 pm informed the Regional Meteorological Centre.
The regional weathermen issued yellow warning for several districts for next 5 days.
Total six places of the state, recorded 40 degree Celsius or above it on Sunday. Apart from Bhubaneswar, the places included Jharsuguda recorded 41.4 degree Celsius followed by Sambalpur with 40.8 degree Celsius, Chandbali 40.8 degree Celsius, Hirakud and Keonjhar 40 degree Celsius.
Besides, the temperature in Balasore, Puri, Paradip and Gopalpur was recorded 38 degree C, 32.4 degree C, 31.8 degree C and 31.2 degree C respectively.
According to a weather bulletin issued by the Bhubaneswar MeT, the heatwave condition is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh and Balangir between April 25 and 26.

The yellow warning has been issued for Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Mayurbhanj, and Kalahandi districts where heatwave condition is likely to prevail at one or two places during April 27 to 28.
The heatwave condition is likely to prevail at one or two places over the districts of Sonepur, Boudh, Balangir, Mayurbhanj and Kalahandi from April 28 to 29.
The MeT forecast that the Maximum temperature (Day Temperature) is very likely to gradually rise by 3 to 5 °C at many places over the districts of Interior Odisha and no large change over Coastal Odisha during next 2 days and also no large change thereafter over the districts of Odisha.
