Ranchi, Aug 3: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) the leader of the ruling coalition in Jharkhand, has decided to support the opposition candidate Margaret Alva in the Elections for the post of Vice President of India.
In a letter issued by JMM President Shibu Soren, MPs have been instructed to vote for Margaret Alva.
JMM’s letter said that all are aware that Margaret Alva is the candidate for Vice-Presidential on behalf of the opposition in the upcoming Vice-Presidential election.
The letter signed by Shibu Soren further said that all the MPs are directed to vote in favour of Vice Presidential candidate Margaret Alva in the Vice Presidential election to be held on 06.08.2022.
Significantly, JMM had voted in support of National Democratic Alliance candidate Draupadi Murmu in the presidential election.
The JMM has two Rajya Sabha MPs including Shibu Soren and Mahua Majhi and one Lok Sabha MP Vijay Hansda.
