Two More Op Ganga Flights With Indians On Way To New Delhi
New Delhi, Mar 1 : Operation Ganga continued with two more evacuation flights leaving for India, one with 216 Indians from Budapest for New Delhi, and another from Bucharest with 218 on board for New Delhi. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, who is closely monitoring the evacuation efforts of Indians from war-hit Ukraine, said in tweets: “Eighth #OperationGanga flight leaves from Budapest for New Delhi with 216 Indian nationals. “Our endeavor for everyone’s safe return continues.”
“We will not rest till our fellow Indians are safe. “Ninth #OperationGanga flight departs Bucharest for New Delhi with 218 Indian nationals.” Earlier, on a seventh flight, 182 Indians were brought back to Mumbai from Bucharest, Jaishankar said. Separately, the Indian Embassy in Ukraine in tweets said that it has successfully facilitated the movement of 1,400 Indian students out of Zaporizhzhia, a city in South East Ukraine, towards the western border. It also said that 400 students who were housed near the Embassy since February 24 have successfully left Kyiv by train through the Mission’s efforts.
“Ensured movement of more than 1,000 Indian students from Kyiv towards Western Ukraine, today. Advised the remaining few students in Kyiv to leave once curfew is lifted,” it said in a tweet.
