SC Nod For NEET PG Counselling On Existing EWS Quota

New Delhi, Jan 7: The Supreme Court on Friday gave its nod for NEET-PG medical counselling process for admissions to 2021-22 academic session with existing OBC/EWS criteria.
A bench of Justices DY Chandrachud and AS Bopanna allowed the 2021-22 admissions on the basis of the existing 27 per cent reservation criteria for Other Backward Classes (OBC) and 10 per cent reservation for Economically Weaker Sections(EWS) .
The apex court allowed the existing criteria to operate for the current admission year in order not to delay further the admission process amid nearly a month-long agitation by resident doctors amid rising Covid-19 cases.
