Mumbai, March 17: The Rupee on Thursday added another gain of 47 paise to close strong at 75.79 on brisk selling of the US dollar by bankers and exporters amid a robust equity market, dealers at the Foreign Exchange said.
The local unit advanced 35 paise at 75.91 in the opening session before it rose further and closed at 75.79, up 47 paise as compared to its previous close. The domestic unit advanced owing to a weak dollar against other world currencies amid a robust equity market. The Rupee registered the day’s high and low at 75.75 and 75.94 respectively against the dollar, the dealers added. The Forex Market will remain close on Friday for Holi.
