Reopen Schools And Colleges, Online Mode Not Interactive: RJD
New Delhi, Feb 10 : RJD MP Manoj Jha on Thursday demanded the government to ensure restoration of offline mode of education, stating that online education was not interactive and was harming the students. Raising the issue during Zero Hour in the Rajya Sabha, he said that all educational institutions should be opened as early as possible. “Apart from Universities and colleges, this is important for schools as well. It would take years to undo the damage caused to this generation of students Sir. I urge with folded hands to immediately open all Universities and colleges.
The disadvantaged sections of the society has problems related to digital access,” Jha said, adding that he was sharing his opinion as a teacher. The MP said that many students sit in front of the devices with switched off videos (without actually connecting with the classes), he said. “The online mode of education is not interactive and a hindrance for knowledge sharing and knowledge production,” added Jha. BJP MP KC Ramamurthy raised the issue of rapid expansion of private schools, colleges and coaching centres in the country and said that students were lured by advertisements of private coaching centres.
