Records follow him or otherwise, Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik has so far remained as an unparalleled political executive in Indian politics.
Patnaik should, popularity wise, the most enviable chief minister, inching closer to surpass the records held by Jyoti Basu.
And now, in September 4, 2022 Patnaik is going to be conferred with yet another honour of a lifetime achievement chief minister for his unchallenged leadership, administration and for his developmental works for the people.
On the eve of the Capital Foundation Annual Lecture And Award Function, he shall be given the honour by former chief justice of India, Justice N V Ramana.
And, of course, longest-serving chief minister of Odisha and as of 2022, one of the longest-serving chief ministers of any Indian state, holding the post for over two decades, and only the third Indian chief Minister after Pawan Chamling and Jyoti Basu to win five consecutive terms as Chief Minister of an Indian state.
Speak less and deliver more has remained the major part of his political principle and a leader who possesses the quality of decency and decorum in politics.
Patnaik neither has indulged in any self-profile pushing in his over two decades of chief ministership yet earning appreciations from both his opponents and supporters.
Even,in an acknowledgement of good governance and compassionate leadership, huge accolades came his way when he was adjudged the most popular chief minister of the country yet again in India Today’s Mood of The Nation survey this year.
