Rajya Sabha Records 100% Productivity
New Delhi, Feb 11: Rajya Sabha members came in for praise after the Upper House functioned without disruptions during the first part of the Budget session which ended on Friday.
“Just before we adjourn for a long recess, on behalf of the Honourable Chairman and on my own behalf, I would like to express our happiness over the manner in which the proceedings of this august House took place during the first part of the Budget Session,” Deputy Chairman Harivansh said.
The House functioned for nearly half hour longer than the scheduled sitting time on Friday. It adjourned to meet for the second part of the Budget session at 10 am on March 14.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman concluded her reply to the Budget before the adjournment of the House. Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu complimented the MPs for effective functioning of the House. The Chair said the House did not witness any forced adjournments during the entire first part of the Budget session. The credit for this goes to every member of this House, Harivash said, he also added that members raised 51 Starred Questions, 71 Zero Hour Submissions and about 50 Special Mentions.
