Panaji, July 13: National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) Presidential candidate Draupadi Murmu will visit Goa on July 14, Bharatiya Janata Party Goa unit President Sadanand Shet Tanavade said on Wednesday.
President candidate Droupadi Murmu will visit Goa tomorrow. She will meet MLAs of Goa. She is coming for the election campaign,’ he said while speaking to reporters at the Legislative Assembly Complex at Provorim.
To a question, he said there was no worry as far as support was concerned and claimed that at least 60 to 70 per cent polls will go in favour of the NDA candidate.
He pointed out that even political parties which are against the BJP have promised to extend support to Ms Murmu.
‘It is for the first time that a candidate from the ST community and that too a woman has been nominated by the BJP for the post of President. Earlier A P J Abdul Kalam and Ram Nath Kovind were nominated by the BJP for the post,’ he said.
The Ballot Box and other polling material for the President election were brought to Goa by Joint Chief Election Officer and Nodal Officer for Presidential Election Aisha Vaingankar and Asst Returning Officer Hercules Noronha for Goa State and kept in strong room at Goa Legislative Assembly Complex on Wednesday.
