President To Embark On Three-Day Assam Visit From Today

Guwahati, Feb 25: President Ramnath Kovind will embark on a three-day visit to Assam from today(Friday). The President will land at Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at around 11.45 am and will head directly to iconic Kamakhya Temple where he will be paying his obeisance to the Kamakhya Maa.

Later in the evening, President Kovind would kick start the celebration to mark the 400th birth anniversary celebrations of the legendary Ahom General, Lachit Barphukhan. During his three day visit, Kovind is scheduled to visit the Kaziranga National Park and attend the convocation ceremony at Tezpur University. Elaborate arrangements have been made in Assam in view of the President’s visit. Some major roads of the city are closed for the smooth movement of the President’s cavalcade.
