PM, Leaders Extend Greetings On Rajasthan Day
New Delhi, March 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended greetings to the people of Rajasthan on the state’s 73rd foundation day and called it the “land of bravery, self-respect and sacrifice”.
Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister said, “Best wishes to all residents of Rajasthan, the historical land of bravery, self-respect and sacrifice, on the state foundation day. I hope that the state moves forward on the path of progress.”
March 30 is marked as the state’s formation day. Calling Rajasthan a land of “courage and valour”, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also extended greetings.
“The land of Rajasthan is famous for courage and valor, whose glorious history and rich cultural heritage is proud of the whole country. Many wishes to all on the foundation day of Veerbhoomi Rajasthan. I wish for the continuous progress and development of the state,” he tweeted.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said, “‘Rajasthan Day’ greetings to all brothers and sisters of the brave land of Rajasthan. It is our wish that this state become a participant in the development journey of India.”
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said March 30 is a moment of great pride for all of us. “Happy Rajasthan Day to all people of the state. This day is a moment of great pride for all of us. It is a celebration of the valour, sacrifice, heritage and culture of Rajasthan. I wish happiness, prosperity and good health to the people of the state. Our government is with you at every step,” he tweeted.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also extended his wishes to all and said, “Happy 73rd Foundation Day to brothers and sisters of Rajasthan, the land of heroic heroes, famous for amazing beauty and ancient culture”.
Rajasthan is the largest state in India by area and the second-largest state by population. It was on March 30, 1949, that a state called Rajputana came into existence. The name ‘Rajasthan’ was given by the British. Former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru inaugurated the state after the unification of the princely states on April 18, 1948. UNI
