Pegasus, an “Israel buy”, petitioner seeks FIR
New Delhi, Jan 30 (UNI) Following certain new “revelations” by the New York Times, that India bought Pegasus in 2017 from Israel, lawyer, Manohar Lal Sharma, the lead petitioner in the pending Pegasus case in the Supreme Court, once again approached the Apex Court to take cognizance of the report and sought registration of FIR in the case.

Sharma said, “New revelation has emerged,” in his petition, filed before the Supreme Court. A bench of the Supreme Court, headed by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Nuthalapati Venkata Ramana, had in its judgement had already formed a 3-member expert probe committee in the Pegasus spyware case. Sharma, in his fresh plea filed, in the Supreme Court said, a NYTimes report claimed the Indian government had bought Pegasus Spyware from Israel in 2017 as part of a $2-billion package for weapons including a missile system.
