The death toll, meanwhile, climbed to 4,14,69,499 with 1,192 deaths in a day.
According to Union health ministry data updated on Tuesday morning, the active case tally declined to 17,43,059.
The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 3,92,30,198 with 2,54,076 recoveries reported in the last 24 hours.
The active cases decreased to 17,43,059– 4.20 per cent of the total infections — while the country’s recovery rate stands at 94.60 per cent, the data updated at 8 am showed.
The weekly positivity rate stood at 15.25 per cent, while the daily positivity rate was recorded at 11.69 per cent and the case fatality rate at 1.20 per cent , according to the ministry.
The Union Health Ministry informed that as many as 1,66,68,48,204 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered so far since the commencement of the vaccination drive on January 16.
