Last Rites Of Sindhutai Sapkal Performed With Mahanubhav Panth Methods

Pune, Jan 5: Last rites of renowned social worker Sindhutai sapkal was performed with Mahanubhav panth methods and was given state honors funeral here on Wednesday

The last rites done with burial method at Thosarbag burial ground.

Large crowd was seen on Navipeth areas of Pune where Sapkal, popularly known as ” Mai” buried.

The condolences of her death have poured across the country for her contributions in social areas.

In a condolence message, the president of India Ram Nath Covind said that life of Dr Sindhutai Sapkal was an inspiring saga of courage, dedication and service. She loved and served orphaned, tribals and marginalised people. Conferred with Padma Shri in 2021, she scripted her own story with incredible grit.

Condolences to her family and followers, President added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweet that Dr. Sindhutai Sapkal will be remembered for her noble service to society. Due to her efforts, many children could lead a better quality of life. She also did a lot of work among marginalised communities. Pained by her demise. Condolences to her family and admirers. Om Shanti, Modi said in his condolence.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also tweets and said that ” My condolences on the demise of Dr. Sindhutai Sapkal that She will be remembered as ‘Maai’ to the many orphans she took care of”

Her extensive work for the rights and rehabilitation of the Adivasi communities will remain a source of inspiration for generations to come, Mr Gandhi said in his tweets condolences message.

Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray said, “The news of Sindhutai’s death is shocking. She gave motherly care to thousands of orphan children. In her sudden death, an inspirational personality has been taken away from the field of social work. Thackeray who has already declared and directed to administration that ” Mai” should be given state of honour funeral for her contributions to Maharashtra. The death of Sapkal has a great lost to state which could not fulfilled in word, Thackeray said.
