Gyanvapi Case: Muslim Side Claim Property Belongs To Waqf Board
Varanasi, Aug 22: Counsels of Muslim side on Monday submitted a rejoinder in the district court on the submissions made by the counsels of the Hindu side along with a document claiming the Gyanvapi mosque of being a Waqf property.
Akhlak Naisan, counsel of the Muslim side, said that they submitted proof of the Gyanvapi complex being a Waqf Board registered as number 100 property in the court of district judge Ajay Krishna Vishvesha.
Counsels of the Muslim side cited orders issued in the year 1944 and 1936 stating the site being a property of Waqf Board.
The counsels of Muslim side will continue with their submissions on Tuesday after which the counsels of Hindu side will make counter submissions.
Shamim Ahmad, the counsel of Anjuman Intezamia Masajid Committee, which manages the affairs of Gyanvapi mosque complex, said that as this being the property of Awqaf, it cannot be heard in the civil court. This matter should be handled by the Waqf Board court.
Senior Advocate Hari Shanker Jain and Vishnu Shanker Jain along with Sudhir Tripathi, Madan Mohan Yadav and others were present from Hindu side.
Advocate Rayish Ahmad, Shamim Ahmad, Merajuddin Khan and others were present there in the court.
