ED Reaches Herald House Again
New Delhi, Aug 4: Day after sealing the premises of Young India Ltd office located at Herald House here, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) teams on Thursday again reached the same premises for another round of search in an on-going investigation into the National Herald case, sources said.
Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi has slammed the action as an attempt to intimidate the party.
Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, tweeted and wrote: “Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of the Opposition in Rajya Sabha, was summoned by ED when Parliament is in session. He, of course, left around 12.20 pm and presented himself. This is Modishahi reaching new lows.”
Kharge reached Herald House earlier and the ED raid is underway, sources said.
ED had conducted raids at multiple locations including Herald House on Tuesday before on Wednesday sealing the Young India office.
Last week, Congress president was questioned for the third time after her son and MP Rahul Gandhi was quizzed for five days for over 50 hours at the ED headquarters here.
On Tuesday, Congress workers including its women wing staged a protest outside Herald House against ED raid on National Herald newspaper office.
Kharge on Tuesday said the ED raid on several offices of National Herald is ‘political vendetta’.
