ED Raids To Put Pressure On Me: Channi
Chandigarh, Jan 18: Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday said the raids by the Enforcement Directorate at a relative’s house in Mohali was aimed at putting pressure on him ahead of the Punjab assembly elections.
“The same thing happened during the West Bengal elections and now they are targeting Congress leaders ahead of the Punjab elections. But we will not budge under pressure. This is not good for democracy,” Channi said.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal said it was sad that the house of a relative of the Chief Minister was raided in an illicit sand mining case.
He said AAP leader Raghav Chadha had highlighted the ongoing illegal sand mining in Chamkaur Sahib, the assembly constituency of Channi.
Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate raided 10 locations, including the house of Channi’s relative in Mohali, in connection with illegal sand mining.
