Budget Cannot Lead To 9.2 pc Growth: Priyanka Chaturvedi
New Delhi, Feb 1 : Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi on Tuesday said the government promised a 9.2 per cent economic growth in the Budget but the steps taken do not address the fundamental problems faced by the country.
“We realised there is nothing for aam aadmi, nothing to reduce their burden or increase their income. It is an opportunity the government of India has missed,” Chaturvedi told UNI. As the government called the Budget ‘futuristic’, Chaurvedi questioned, “How can the Budget be futuristic when it is not addressing the issue of unemployment in the country?
The biggest challenges have gone unaddressed and you are talking about a futuristic budget when your data does not match up to reality. “You are talking about 9.2 per cent economic growth, you have not even addressed the per capita income of individuals which is reducing and the joblessness.
How are you talking about increased GDP when all parameters of ensuring that the nation goes in the right direction are missing and all the levers of driving the economy forward are missing?” she questioned. She also slammed the government for bragging about the increased GST collection and said common people are bearing its brunt. “It is so unfortunate you are looking at the GST collection in a way that you are trying to tell people this is how the economy is recovering,” she added.
