Covid or Omicron, but a journey through the rigors of suspense has started almost for the third time.
Rigorous because, a swarm of confusions keep unnerving the larger mass. Which, more or less, stems from the human ignorance and so also of the medical fraternity world over.
Human was neither seasoned against such a virus nor had ever gone through such a maze of no know-how.
Almost every day, an expert can be read through the news holding an opinion which the other does not agree with.
First it was stated that, Omicron, as a variant, is not as dangerous or fatal as Covid-19. And those who have two vaccine doses can be able to fight the viruses’ malignancy. Doctors across board aired an unanimity of this issue.
Now, fairly recently, an Epidemiologist from ICMR was quoted by a national website stating that, booster or no booster dose but, Omicron is just “unstoppable”. It will infect all.
Dr. Naresh Purohit, Advisor to the National Communicable Disease Control Programme, said that cases of the new variant are steadily increasing.
At present, 98 percent of the patients in Himachal Pradesh are in home isolation, he said.
Omicron has some different traits as compared to the earlier Delta variant and these are scary, Purohit said.
Earlier we were made to accept that, in case of Omicron the symptoms were sore-throat and cold. Now it is said that, pain in the lower back is one noticeable symptom.
Lower back pain, nausea, running nose, sore throat, body pain and headache, a conglomerate of symptoms scarier than the disease.
