“A Lofty Voice Of Farmers, Working Class Lost”: CM Uddhav On ND Patil’s Demise
Kolhapur: Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray on Monday mourned the demise of Dr ND Patil, a progressive leader who was at the forefront of many significant movements.
In his condolence message, the CM said, “The lofty voice of farmers and working class masses is lost now. Maharashtra will miss the leadership of late Patil.”
He further said, “The departed soul was a platform of progressive thoughts of the state. He was a torchbearer of Mahatma Phule and Karveer Bhaurao Patil’s thinkings.”
“Dr Patil was at the forefront in several agitations, specifically Samyukta Maharashtra movement and subsequent agitations for areas disputed with Karnataka. He was also lathicharged during the protests,” he underscored.
“A close friend of Shiv Sena founder late Balasaheb Thackeray, Dr Patil’s leadership was inspirational for the state,” he remarked.
