Depression Weakens Into Well Marked Low Pressure Area Over Coastal AP
Hyderabad, May 12: The Depression (remnant of cyclonic storm ‘Asani’) over coastal Andhra Pradesh weakened into a well marked low pressure area over the same region at 0830 hours on Thursday.
India Meteorological Department (IMD) in a bulletin a short while ago said, the well marked low pressure area is likely to weaken further into a ‘Low Pressure Area’ during the next 12 hours.
Light to moderate rainfall at many places with heavy rainfall at isolated places is likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh and heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Rayalaseema today.
Squally wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph to prevail over coastal Andhra Pradesh and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal during the next 24 hours.
Sea condition is likely to be rough over west-central Bay of Bengal in the next 24 hours and improve thereafter. Fishermen are advised not to venture into west-central Bay of Bengal along and off Andhra Pradesh coast, the bulletin added.
