Auto Rickshaw Driver Fined Rs 500 For Not Wearing Helmet
Mumbai, Mar 3: The online fine system of traffic police is often a headache for some. The latest example of this can be seen in the city of Kalyan. Gurunath Chikankar, a rickshaw puller living in Kalyan, has been fined Rs 500 by the traffic police for not wearing a helmet.
According to information, on December 3, 2021, a two-wheeler driver was going somewhere in the Kandivali area of Mumbai without wearing a helmet when the traffic police took a photo of him but the currency came in the name of auto driver Gurunath Chikankar. In the currency, the photo belongs to the bike driver but the rickshaw number, name and mobile number belong to Gurunath. Auto rickshaw driver Gurunath Chikankar was shocked when he came to know about the fine of Rs 500 through his mobile phone.
The auto rickshaw driver then asked the Kalyan traffic police about the matter and told them to go to Thane and Mumbai. The rickshaw driver says that when it is not my fault, why should I stop working and go around Mumbai and Thane? Gurunath says the traffic police need to correct their mistake.
As per today’s report, the rickshaw driver has demanded immediate removal of fines and notices. An e-currency system has recently been introduced in Kalyan. There are many drawbacks to this. Madan Chikankar, a relative of the motorist, said that the traffic police should be punished for violating traffic rules while operating on their e-currency system.
