Mid-flight surprise: Woman who was unaware she was pregnant gives birth onboard

Pleasures often come but that was a real thrill for a woman to become a mother on board a flight even without a feel for the mirth of motherhood.
A young woman from Ecuador who didn’t know she was pregnant gave birth mid-flight last week after going to the bathroom with a stomach ache. A plane landed with one more passenger than it took off with the previous week after a woman unexpectedly gave birth, a report said.
The new mother, Tamara, was flying to Spain on a KLM flight with a connection in Amsterdam.
“A few hours before landing in the Netherlands, her stomach hurt and she decided to go to the toilet,” to her great surprise, after two contractions alone – and in shock found herself holding her newborn baby in her arms. A hospital spokesperson told NL Times.
“Tamara had no idea she was pregnant and was quite taken aback by the event,” the spokesperson informed.
As per New York Post, an airline spokesperson said that two doctors and a nurse from Austria were on the plane and assisted Ms. Tamara in the delivery, “for which we are very grateful to them”. The authorities also informed that Ms. Tamara named the baby Maximiliano, after one of the helpful passengers who was by her side to make sure she had a safe delivery.
She and the newborn were immediately evacuated to the hospital upon landing in Amsterdam. According to KLM, the mother and baby are currently “doing well.”
