Ukraine Face-Off: NATO Slam Russia-Belarus Drills

Moscow, Feb 10 : NATO and the US have condemned Russia and Belarus’ 10-day joint drills amid concerns of Moscow amassing its troops along the Ukraine borders. “On February 10, the ‘Allied Resolve-2022’ joint drills started on the combines arms ranges of the Republic of Belarus as part of the second stage of checking the reaction forces of the Union State,” Sputnik quoted Russian Defense Ministry as saying on Thursday.
According to BBC, about 30,000 Russian troops are expected to take part in the drills with Belarus On the latest development, NATO has said that the joint drills mark Russia’s biggest deployment to ex-Soviet Belarus since the Cold War. Meanwhile, the White House has called the drills an “escalatory” action. Russia has repeatedly refuted claims that it is planning to invade Ukraine despite amassing more than 100,000 troops at the border.
However, some Western nations have warned that a Russian attack could happen any time. According to BBC, diplomatic talks aimed at resolving the conflict are expected across Europe on Thursday.
