SL President Ready To Resign
Colombo, July 9: Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, who fled the President’s House before thousands of protesters stormed it demanding his resignation, on Saturday indicated that he was ready to resign.
Social media posts showed that the President had told Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe that “he will respect any decision” taken at a meeting of party leaders convened by the Prime Minister.
The President, whose whereabouts are unknown, is said to be with a military unit.
