Shehbaz Sharif Calls For ‘Peaceful Settlement Of Outstanding Disputes, Including Kashmir’
Islamabad, April 12: Newly-sworn in Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday thanked Indian PM Narendra Modi for his felicitations and said that his country desires peaceful and cooperative ties with India. However, he added that “peaceful settlement of outstanding disputes including Jammu & Kashmir is indispensable”.
In reply to the greeting of PM Modi where he said that “India desires peace and stability in a region free of terror”, Shehbaz Sharif said that “Pakistan’s sacrifices in fighting terrorism are well-known. Let’s secure peace and focus on socio-economic development of our people.”

PM Modi in a tweet on Monday had said: “Congratulations to H. E. Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on his election as the Prime Minister of Pakistan. “India desires peace and stability in a region free of terror, so that we can focus on our development challenges and ensure the well-being and prosperity of our people.”
