Putin To Skip US Independence Day Greetings This Yr
Moscow, July 4: Russian President Vladimir Putin will not send Independence Day greetings to US President Joe Biden and US citizens this year, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday.
“No, a congratulatory telegram will not be sent this year,” Peskov said in response to the relevant question.
He said 2022 is the year when the US’ unfriendly policy toward Russia “culminated.”
“Therefore, of course, under these conditions, it can hardly be considered appropriate — sending such greetings,” Peskov said.
The US marks Independence Day on July 4. This federal holiday commemorates the signing of the Declaration of Independence and the founding of the United States in 1776.
