Putin Briefs UAE Crown Prince On Reasons For Ukraine Military Operations
Moscow, Mar 1: Russian President Vladimir Putin held a telephonic talk with Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Tuesday to discuss the Ukraine situation and the reasons for Russia’s military operations in Donbas, the Kremlin said.
“The sides discussed the Ukraine situation. Vladimir Putin gave a detailed account of the reasons, goals and targets of the Russian special operation protecting Donbas”, the Kremlin press service said.
The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi “stated the right of Russia to ensure its national security,” it said. The UAE, along with India and China, have consistently abstained in the UN Security Council resolutions condemning Russia’s military operations in Ukraine.
The two leaders also discussed the implementation of OPEC+ agreements in the phone call. “They underlined the intention to continue coordination of efforts of both countries for the sake of global energy market stability,” the press service said.
