Prez Kovind, PM Modi Voice Sorrow Over UP Tragedy
“I am saddened to hear the loss of lives of many people including women and children at Kushinagar. My deepest condolences to all the bereaved families who lost their loved ones in this tragic incident,” the President said.
Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu added: “Saddened by the loss of lives… My deepest condolences to the bereaved families.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the tragedy “heartbreaking. I convey my deepest condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives. I wish the injured a speedy recovery”.

Several people were seated on a cemented platform atop a well at a wedding ceremony when it suddenly gave way, plunging them down. The dead included women and children.
Home Minister Amit Shah called the accident “very sad”.
