PM Modi Heads For UAE After Attending G7 Summit In Germany
Munich/New Delhi, June 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday left Germany after a productive two-day visit and headed for the UAE to hold talks with the new ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Leaving Germany, the PM said in tweets that during the G7 Summit in Schloss Elmau he interacted with several world leaders and participated in a memorable Indian community program.
The PM said he was able to discuss many issues during the G7 aimed at furthering global well being and prosperity.

He also thanked the people of Germany and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz for the hospitality and said he was confident that the friendship between the two nations will scale new heights.
“I thank the people of Germany, @Bundeskanzler Scholz and the German Government for their hospitality during the entire visit. I am confident India-Germany friendship will scale newer heights in the times to come.”
On the sidelines of the G7, the PM interacted with his Italian counterpart Mario Draghi, with UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, with Japanese PM Fumio Kishida, with the Director General of the World Trade Organisation Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, with WHO chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and with Senegalese President Macky Sall, besides other leaders.
In the UAE, which will be a brief stop-over, the PM will pay his personal condolences on the passing away of Sheikh Khalifa, the former UAE President and Abu Dhabi Ruler.
The PM will also take the opportunity to congratulate Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on his election as the new President of UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi.
This will be the first meeting between the two leaders since Mohamed bin Zayed’s election as the new ruler of Abu Dhabi. He leaves for Delhi later in the evening.
