Pakistan: Nawaz Sharif Will Return After Eid, Claims Javed Latif
Islamabad, April 11: PML-N leader Mian Javed Latif has claimed that the party supremo Nawaz Sharif is expected to come back to Pakistan after Eid, Express Tribune reported on Monday.
Latif’s statement is being seen as a belief that the coalition government won’t last longer than six months. The PML-N leader said the decision pertaining to Nawaz’s anticipated return will be discussed with the coalition partners and that all decisions in this regard would be first brought up with constituent parties of the coalition.
With regards the problems being faced by Pakistan, Latif suggested that the only solution was to hold fresh elections, adding that there was this task of election reforms that had to be done prior to elections. According to him the issues regarding the use of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and voting rights for overseas Pakistanis were two primary issues that are to be addressed at the earliest.
This is not the first time that there have been talks about Nawaz Sharif’s return. PML-N leaders, including Javed Latif, have made similar claims before as well. However, with the PTI government ousted, the prospects of Nawaz Sharif’s return to home remain a subject of speculations.
