Over 50 Palestinians Injured In Clashes With Israel
Palestine, Feb 9: More than 50 Palestinians sustained wounds in clashes with Israeli soldiers in the West Bank, the Palestinian Red Crescent said. “Fifty-three Palestinians were injured this night in clashes with Israeli soldiers in the Borka and Beit areas near the city of Nablus (Shechem) in the West Bank,” the group’s statement read.
In particular, two people sustained gunshot wounds while others suffered from the effects of tear gas. Palestinians and Israelis regularly clash near the city of Nablus where Israel launched the construction of a small Jewish settlement in May. Outraged Palestinians are protesting the confiscation of Palestinian land to accommodate Israeli buildings. Israeli settlements are among the main issues keeping the two nations at odds.
