‘Imran Khan’s Allies Will Join Opp After March 24’
Islamabad, March 22: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister on Agriculture and Senior Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Manzoor Hussain Wassan on Tuesday said that ruling PTI allies — MQM (Pakistan) and PML(Q) — will join opposition after March 24.
He said, “PTI government allies in Centre- MQM-P and PML-Q – will officially announce joining opposition camp after March 24 and vote against PM Imran Khan on no-confidence motion”. ARY News quoted the PPP leader as emphasising that Imran Khan will not remain PM after March 28 and an interim govt would be formed after the success of no-trust motion against the prime minister.
“Shehbaz Sharif will become interim prime minister,” he said, adding that new general elections would be held in the country. He further said that Imran Khan has already accepted his defeat by delaying the National Assembly session on no-confidence motion. The National Assembly session will be convened on March 25 by Speaker of the Lower House of the Parliament Asad Qaiser following no-confidence motion filed against Prime Minister Imran Khan by the opposition parties on March 8.
According to ARY News, the opposition has decided to hold a show of power on the first day of the National Assembly session while PTI has planned public gathering in Islamabad on March 27.
