Gadchiroli/Nagour : A farmer was killed in a tiger attack near Churchura village in this district of Maharashtra, a senior forest official told UNI on Tuesday.
According to the official, Dombaji Laxman Dongre (50) left home on Monday morning along with a pair of oxen for the field, close to the forest area, that is when a lurking tiger suddenly attacked Dombaji and killed him on the spot.
Meanwhile, the family members and villagers became worried as Dombaji failed to reach home timely even in the evening.
When family members and some villagers started the search, they found Dombaji’s body.
Upon getting information, some forest officials rushed to the spot and after examining the injuries they found that the tiger killed him.
The villagers have demanded that the Forest Department should extend immediate financial help to the family members and take steps to capture the big cat.
