German Chancellor To Host G7 Summit On Ukraine
Berlin, March 18: German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, whose country has taken over the rotating presidency of G7, on Friday invited the leaders of the group of seven most developed economies to an emergency summit on Ukraine in Brussels on March 24. “The chancellor invited… heads of state and government of G7 to Brussels next Thursday. The meeting will be part of the NATO summit and Council of the EU. G7 partners will discuss urgent issues, specifically the situation in Ukraine,” government spokeswoman Christiane Hoffmann told reporters. Brussels is scheduled to host an extraordinary NATO summit on Thursday to discuss the Russian military operation in Ukraine and ways of strengthening the alliance in response to new security challenges. The two-day EU Council will look at the Ukrainian conflict as well as energy and economic matters.
