Elections Only After Electoral Reforms: Zardari
Islamabad, May 12: Former Pakistan president and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari has said that general elections in the country will be held only after the government introduces electoral reforms, Geo News reported on Thrusday.
“Electoral and NAB (National Accountability Bureau) reforms are included in our game plan,” the ex-president said during a press conference, noting that if polls are held before reforms, then any government that comes into power will face the issues that the past and present regimes are facing.
Zardari said that electoral reforms will take about three to four months, adding that the government will not go ahead with the elections without them. He said the government will take all the coalition parties on board ahead of taking any decision in this regard.
