Mobilenews24x7 Bureau
New Delhi, Jan 21 : After the data of Covid-19 vaccine beneficiaries was allegedly breached on the internet, the Centre on Friday issued a statement clarifying that the alleged leak did not occur from the Co-WIN portal.
The Union Health Ministry in its clarification on the issue said that the alleged leak did not appear to have occurred from the Co-WIN portal. The ministry also said that it was examining the matter.
“We are getting the matter examined. However, prima facie it appears that the alleged leak is not related to Co-WIN as we neither collect any information on address or the Covid-19 status of beneficiaries,” it posted on Twitter.
The government server was subjected to the alleged data breach, with names, phone numbers, addresses, and Covid-19 results of thousands of people being leaked online and put on sale on the Raid Forums website.
The website claimed to have access to personal data belonging to 20,000 people.
