Kolkata, Feb 27 : Filmmaker Srijit Mukherji dropped the date for the release of the next in “Satyaneshi” Byomkesh Bakshi universe. The next edition directed by Arindam Sil and starring Abir Chatterjee and Sohini Sarkar will be released on August 11, the “Uma” director tweeted. “Eki Shotyo shawkoli shotyo? Hey Taharo chirobhawkto? Shotyanneshi phirche…,” Mukherji tweeted (in more of a disbelief tone, showing the enthusiasm of a true Byomkesh follower). The last edition came in 2019 “Satyaneshi Byomkesh” played by Parambrata Chatterjee. Byomkesh Bakshi is a Bengali detective. A fictional character created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. He referred to himself as the “truth-seeker” or “Satyanweshi” in the stories. Byomkesh is known for his proficiency with observation, logical reasoning, and forensic science which he uses to solve his cases. First appearing in 1932, his followers have only improved since and have a national fan base as it was also a tv serial for several years played by Rajat Kapoor and then by the late Sushant Singh Rajput in the 2015 movie “Detective Byomkesh Bakshy”.
