1 Million Refugees Fled Ukraine In 1 Week: UN
United Nations, March 3: The United Nations on Thursday said one million people have fled Ukraine to neighbouring countries in just one week amid the Russian invasion. UN’s High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi said, “In just seven days we have witnessed the exodus of one million refugees from Ukraine to neighbouring countries. “For many millions more, inside Ukraine, it’s time for guns to fall silent, so that life-saving humanitarian assistance can be provided.”
Meanwhile, Canada sanctions 10 people in Russia’s energy sector, including people from two Russian energy companies, Rosneft and Gazprom, according to The Kyiv Independent. On Thursday morning, four explosions rocked Kyiv on the eighth day of Russian invasion in Ukraine. According to The Kyiv Independent, two loud explosions were heard in the center of Kyiv. The third and fourth explosions were heard near Kyiv’s Druzhby Narodiv metro station. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, in a video post in Facebook, 9,000 Russians have been killed in one week.
