Mar, 12: The aircraft coming from Delhi, has managed a slippery landing and a major accident was averted at Dumna airport in Jabalpur, MP, on Saturday. Alliance Air ATR72-600, skidded on the runway during the landing here. However, everything was done well by controlling the plane later, but the lives of 55 passengers were at risk.
The incident took place at 1.13 pm when an Air India flight coming from Delhi was scheduled to land at Dumna airport. Now that the flight was about to land at the runway, the pilot lost control and the plane skidded off the runway. Immediately, the pilot, with his wisdom, brought the plane back under control and all the passengers were secured. Apart from 55 passengers, five crew members were also present at the time.
After the incident, the DCGA has ordered an investigation. Efforts are being made to find out the cause of this accident.
